Abstract

Education is a basic need for every individual, as well as clothing, food and shelter needs. Education can be used as a benchmark to determine the level of success and development of a country. The loss of reading culture is the most important cause, even the culture of learning in schools gradually begins to disappear, indeed the percentage of school children increases with the existence of compulsory education programs by the government but it does not necessarily improve the quality of education because even though every day school children they have never studied especially the low reading culture. The school seems to be just a daily routine. The school has a very important role in instilling a culture of reading and writing (literacy) in students. Therefore, each school must provide full support for the growth of literacy in the school.
