Kebiasaan Membaca Siswa SDN 1 Karangasem (Survei Aspek Kebiasaan Membaca)

Abstract

This study aims to determine the reading habits of students of Karangasem 1 Elementary School. The research method used is descriptive survey. The population in this study were students of SDN 1 Karangasem class 3 to class 6. The sampling technique that the researchers used was total sampling or census techniques. Data collection techniques in this study were through questionnaires, interviews, observation, and library studies. Data analysis techniques use descriptive statistical analysis. Based on the results of the study of a total of 97 students it was known that for aspects of student feelings when reading 24 students felt happy when they found the book they wanted to read, and most of them, 73 students felt happy when reading in the library. When there is no reading material, most students feel normal. Regarding the intensity of reading, 48 students carry out reading 3 times a week, viewed from the visiting book in 1 school year. Every week students read 2-3 books, but not all are read. Besides books, students also read other reading material, such as magazines. Students read magazines between 1-5 magazines each week. The frequency of visiting the library, 56 students take the time to visit the library 2-3 times a week. The storybook that students read is a fairy tale picture book. Of the 97 student respondents, 67 students had fairy tale pictures. Favored themes are folklore themes. For general knowledge books that are read by students, most of them read books on natural science (IPA) on the grounds that the number of images contained in the book.
