Abstract

Education is the early foundation of a civilization development. Implementation of a superior education will have an impact on the creation of intelligent human beings as initiators and fighters to improve the quality of a civilization. Apart from the demands of mastering cognitive and psychomotor aspects maximally, the important thing that needs to be developed to support the brilliance of intelligence is the cultivation of humanistic culture in character education. Realizing that human is a subject that has a copyright, taste, and intention, then the establishment of an education to humanize humans is an absolute imperative. This urgency becomes principal when the success of education determines the intelligence of the nation's life. Humanist character education can be realized with the appropriate learning approach as well as the paradigm of reflective pedagogy. This approach prioritizes education in various aspects of the whole person. The power to examine and understand the reality of self becomes the main capital of reflective pedagogy paradigm. Emphasis on the importance of experience, reflection, action, and investment education context and evaluation will be the alignment of this approach in the implementation of a humanist character education.
