PENTINGNYA MENANAMKAN PENDIDIKAN BERBASIS KARAKTER MELALUI PENDIDIKAN FORMAL PADA ANAK USIA SEKOLAH DASAR

Abstract

Teachers play important roles in constructing the students’ characters. At school, teachers have obligation to teach character to the students, especially during the learning process in schools. Teachers are in fact worth believed and imitated by the students because of that teachers should conduct proper lesson to teach characters.

Through character education students are expected to be able to independently increase and use knowledge, study and internalize and personalize the character values and noble character that manifested in everyday behavior. Character education is expected to prepare the noble future generations to face the challenges of the times in the era of globalization.

This character education had to become compulsory from primary school subjects. Children are the generation that will determine the fate of the nation in the future. The children’s characters will optimally shaped if the students are space to freely develop themselves. Character refers to the set of attitudes, behaviors, motivation, and skills.
